Afghanistan Government launch a new Covid 19 relief package To help families facing financial crisis due to Corona epidemic, the Government of Afghanistan has announced a Kovid-19 relief package.
According to local media reports, inaugurating the scheme, President Ashraf Ghani said that 90 percent of the country’s population is below the poverty line. These people will be helped by this new relief package.
According to the plan, the government will allocate $ 86 million in the first phase and in the second phase will allocate $ 158 million to make food available to the people across the country.
In the first phase, 1.7 million people from 13,000 villages in 34 provinces will be assisted.
Afghanistan Vice President Amarullah Saleh said that if we collect both figures, more than 90 percent of the population in Afghanistan will benefit from the package. In the second phase, $ 158 million will be spent.
Talking about the dangers of the Corona epidemic, Afghanistan’s second Vice President, Mohammad Sarwar Danish said that there is still a threat of pandemonium, so we all need to take the guidelines seriously.
Earlier in May, the government of Afghanistan announced a free bread distribution program to the needy people in Kabul and other provinces.
The initiative was designed to help the city through bakeries during lockdown.
According to the media report, the data shows that 39 percent of the population in Afghanistan was living below the poverty line in 2014 when Ghani became the President.
